Statistics Info

Statistics are updated on a daily basis. The number of total volumes and volumes in the public domain reflect actual counts of volumes in the repository. Other statistics are calculated based on an average book having 350 pages, being 3/4 of an inch wide, containing 39 MB of information, and weighing 26 ounces. The miles calculated are miles of books standing side-by-side, as they would on a shelf.

Visualizations

Visualization data are also updated daily. There is a discrepancy between the total number of volumes in HathiTrust and the number represented in the visualizations. This is due to two different methods for extracting and processing data, resulting in fewer volumes appearing in the visualizations than are actually held in the repository. The two methods should be reconciled shortly.
