Coming in January 2024: NEW Public Domain titles

In January, HathiTrust will once again celebrate the return of Public Domain Day. This coming year, titles published in 1928 will enter the public domain in the United States, including more than 66,000 items in the HathiTrust collection. Some of these will also be viewable globally. Global readers will also gain public domain access to 46,829 titles.

Here is a sneak peek of works that will be opening in January. (Some titles may not be immediately available for viewing due to time constraints on updating the collection.)

The list includes Orlando by Virginia Woolf, The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne, Propaganda by Edward Bernays, and Point Counter Point by Aldous Huxley. Your favorites might already be open thanks to HathiTrust’s Copyright Review Program, which examines copyright status to open new titles every day. With thousands of contributions from member libraries, HathiTrust is uniquely positioned to increase public access to these items available in its digital repository and to preserve these items for access long into the future.
