Annual Member Meetings
HathiTrust’s bylaws require that we hold an annual meeting:
“An Annual Meeting of the Members shall be held for the transaction of such business as may come before the meeting. The Board of Governors shall determine the location of Annual Meetings. If the election of governors is not held on the day designated for the Annual Meeting, or at any adjournment thereof, the Board of Governors shall cause the election to be held electronically.” (Article IV, Section 1)
Thus we are required to hold a meeting for business, but we have latitude in what business to bring before the members. Over the years the meeting has become not only a business meeting, but also an opportunity to engage and inform the membership while receiving feedback on our direction and strategies.
